Review on Huawei Freebuds Pro MermaidTWS with Active Noise Cancellation - Silver Frost by Kio West ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My impression of the purchase is good, buy it.

At the end, what can I say? I have a deep and abiding love for headphones. The experience of listening to music in one is unparalleled; using gestures is fast and easy; and the software does what it's supposed to. It's unusual to run across a problem like the one I'm having. The call center staff claimed they had never seen anything like it before. Don't believe them if you turn on the noise cancellation and hear a hiss in one of the headphones because of the wind or the firmware or anything else; you're getting married. Visit a repair shop and ask for a replacement. The St. Petersburg service facility functions without a hitch. The truth is that I didn't go because I am too lazy to get out of bed, but also because I use headphones constantly and didn't want to risk losing them for a few days. But, after 40 minutes, the problem was resolved. Having seen their work, I can say that I am satisfied. Don't bother wasting time on Huawei's official website's chat support; it's a total waste of time. Some of the personnel manning the chat probably have no idea how their products function, so they just deliver the canned responses they think they should give. They follow procedures, so an answer that satisfies the letter of the law is all they have to find the time for. We don't want to help you, so if you respond with "thank you, I'll go do it" or "fall off in a minute" to our questions of "are you still here?" we've accomplished our purpose. If the latter occurred, you would have to start the discussion over and answer all the same questions all over again. Don't bother yourself with them. It's unfortunate that Huawei isn't making efforts to enhance this feature. That's worth deducting a star. I found the product to be effective and would suggest it to others. At this point, I think I've had enough of the review.

Pros
  • The sound and quality are both excellent. These headphones make for a fantastic music listening experience. Lungs. Compact. Silver is an exquisite hue. Electromagnetic induction charging. Gesture input is easy to use.
Cons
  • The only real disadvantage is the quality of Huawei's online assistance. In here, the penultimate section of my assessment, I'll attempt to distill the core aspects of the issue and its resolution into a few concise sentences. Those who have experienced the same issue may find this helpful. There was a significant hiss in the right earpiece whenever the noise cancellation feature was on (similar to the hiss of a receiver that does not find a radio wave). The issue was that the noise didn't always show up; sometimes I'd go a week or more between hearing anything out of the ordinary while walking around with my typical noise reduction settings, and then suddenly the noise would return. After being asked numerous questions about the device's serial number, the fact that the headphones had been updated to the latest version, the nature of the noise, and the time it appeared when I contacted the support service on the official Huawei website, I was told to untie the headphones by pressing the reset button. What it amounts to is a reiteration of this recommendation, which begs the question: what will it give (after all, untying the headphones does not reset the software to the basic version)? As expected, restarting the ears had no effect, so I uninstalled AI Life and reinstalled it. As a result, the issue went away for a week before returning. At the same time, Huawei responded to this review by saying that the hissing only happens in the right earpiece when there is a lot of wind, however this explanation doesn't hold water because the hissing happens in all environments. I called Huawei's support line and requested a consultation with a technician (I didn't want to just randomly contact them because I suspected the issue lay in the firmware). The expert did really return our call and provide the advice we had been promised. Rare as the problem mentioned is, flashing won't fix it; you'll need to see them; and, of course, it's preferable that there be an issue just before I arrive. When the problem I just outlined finally manifested itself, I went to the help desk. After 40 minutes of testing, during which they replaced the right earpiece with a new one, they returned the headphones. There was an issue with the right earbud.
