Ratchet too tight. It's supposed to help you peel the film off, but depending on the angle of pull it usually just flips over the product. Since I have children and they are small, this happens all the time. Looks great and a great concept but needs some tweaking to be perfect. It just so happens that it's easy to set up! At the bottom of the block, dead center, you will feel a depression behind the rubber pad where there is a hole. Cut the hole with a razor blade to expose the nut under the rubber grommet. Remove the nut. The paper towel holder falls apart; You will see that the ratchet is a round disc with spring loaded nipples (plastic) that interact with the gear to stop rotation. You can either remove the gear entirely, in which case the dispenser spins freely, OR you can file the nipples a bit to reduce the power of the ratchet. I chose the second option and now the product is great.
