It looks like the USB 3 port on this device is the only part of USB 3, the card reader only uses USB 2 hence the 'Superspeed' designation. confound. If this is not a problem and you really need the inputs on the front: make sure your motherboard has both USB 2 and USB 3 outputs, as you will need to buy PCI Express adapters if you don't have them to have. My motherboard is a few years old and I don't have it even though it has a fast i5 processor. Why not just buy a USB 3 card reader for a lot less money?
