Review on πŸ₯’ Efficient Farberware Handheld Mandoline Slicer for Fruits and Vegetables, Green by Syracuse Parrotte

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The slicer is too big for me. But it works fine.

I was looking for something to quickly and easily cut cabbage and other vegetables into thin slices. I have a food processor but it seems like a lot of clean up just slicing one head. I figured this mandoline slicer would do the job. Unfortunately, this cutting machine is too big for me. Its my fault. I should have paid more attention to the height and length of the plane. For safe use of the slicer it is necessary to lengthen the legs, making the machine higher. I'm not very tall (5ft 0ft) and all of my kitchen counters are quite tall. I found it uncomfortable to safely use the food slicer with my legs stretched out. I like the unit itself. The parts appear to be of high quality, as one is used to from Faberware. My favorite feature is the thickness scale. By quickly turning the disc, you can adjust the thickness of the product to be sliced. The food slicer comes with a fixed blade that is adjusted by turning the thickness dial, a 3.5mm straw blade and a 7mm straw blade. Two straw blades come with blade covers and a blade storage case. There's also a "soft food pusher" that grabs food and guides it safely through the food slicer. Your fingers are protected when the food slicer is used as intended. I understand the concept and need for a food pusher, it just felt a bit bulky and awkward for my smaller hands. Straw Blade and Tomato in Medium mode. I was very, very happy with the cutting and presentation of the dishes. Overall, I liked the Farberware Mandolin Slicer. It's definitely high quality. I just wish it was a little smaller and shorter.
