I'm surprised no one is complaining about the poor quality of the USB software and/or USB hardware on this device. I've only had problems with 3 different OS versions (Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP), 3 different computers and 2 identical DW-90 digital recorders. In all cases "Digital Wave Player" will be played. Connects to the recorder within a few seconds after connecting the USB cable. On Windows XP the connection doesn't drop for 6-7 seconds (yup!) so you still have a chance to download *some* WAV files before the connection drops but folks this "workaround" " PAINFUL ! Worse, there are no updated drivers for this recorder on the Olympus website. In fact, the DW-90 doesn't even show up in the "Digital Voice Recorders" drop-down list. I wonder why? I have one Emailed to Olympus describing this issue. If they come back with something insightful I'll be sure to update this post on Revain. In the meantime, if you don't need USB skills, don't buy this recorder ( but wasn't that what made this recorder so attractive in the first place?).
