Review on πŸ’» Cable Matters USB 3.0 Hard Drive Docking Station: 10TB+ Drive Support for 2.5 Inch & 3.5 Inch HDD/SSD with Included USB-C Cable by Alejandro Labustin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good doc. Works with 4TB WD Red and Raspberry Pi.

Seems to be a good dock. Not as heavy as the Thermaltake Blacx docking station, but sturdy enough for my purposes. Have a 4TB WD Red drive in it connected to a Raspberry Pi 4 acting as a file server and it works fine. The main thing is fast and reliable. For drives larger than 2TB, the formatting performed by some other docking stations is not always compatible with systems connected to the drive via SATA or eSATA interfaces. That's not a problem here, at least not with WD Red. I was able to format the drive on either system (Raspberry Pi via USB, Ubuntu Mate via eSATA) and when moved to another system it mounted without any problems. The only complaint I have is that the rubber pads intended to act as feet are so thin (think heavy paper gauge) that they don't touch due to the dock's slightly cupped bottom. Luckily I had thicker legs which solved the problem.
