Review on CowboyStudio Stacking Modifier System Speedlite by Mike Goodwin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great, lightweight and cheap

I've had other nets that gave me headaches because of their shape and (un)portability. They're relatively easy to carry around, but be aware that they're still quite large and take up a lot of space in your camera bag. Cons: 1) Large. I think that's part of it, because these things are governed by the laws of physics and light. But I have a feeling they could shave the center bulge a bit to save a lot of space. 2) Not 100% sure. The bend between the two outer parts is only a few degrees. Therefore, if it is not fully rotated, it may fall out during recording. 3) It's not exactly Cowboy Studios. I mean, Cowboy Studios basically just imports and rebrands Chinese gear, but NOTHING is marked as Cowboy Studios on it. Not even the box it comes in. Pros: 1) Cheap. That brought you here. 2) FULFILLS ITS MISSION. With their help, I got great shots, and now, despite the shortcomings described above, they live in a camera bag. 3) Durability. It's plastic so I don't think it will break on set. 4) Lightweight. It's plastic. Very easy. Very cheap plastic. 5) It turned out that having 3 different "settings" was more convenient than I thought. Conclusion: Yes, now you can stop searching and comparing Revain. Save your valuable time because it's worth more than the $2 you'll save if you keep hunting. Just take it. They work and are cheap. *edit* If you have any problems or doubts about whether or not it will fit your flash, the YN-568EXII, which is about a bit larger than the Canon 430EX, their mid-range model, will do for me. What I also did was go to the store for 99 cents and buy cheap foam foot glides with sticky adhesive on one side that they designed for furniture so they don't scratch the floor. I stuck a layer inside the grid. It now fits the smaller flash I have, and then when I want to use the larger flash, the foam just compresses and conforms to the flash (making it even more reliable than without the modification). Or you can just carry tissue paper in your camera bag.
