A thoughtfully designed lamp for your workspace

I needed a lamp that I could use at night to illuminate my keyboard and workspace without constantly readjusting my existing desk lamp (which was always on). to have to ). either way). It does the job almost perfectly. It's easy to install - simply open the weighted clip that is permanently attached to the lamp, place the lamp on your monitor or laptop screen and close the clip on the back of the monitor. Couldn't be easier. The clip is quite heavy and this extra weight is to offset the weight of the lamp itself. This is really smart design. At first I didn't think it would hold its place securely, but so far it's working great. Tip - Insert the USB Type-C connector into the lamp holder BEFORE mounting it on the screen! It takes a decent amount of pressure to seat the plug, and that much pressure will likely dislodge the bulb. Then simply plug the other end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer. By the way, when you run out of ports, remember that drawer full of old cell phone USB chargers you have? You know those old 1 amp chargers that are too weak to charge your shiny new phone? Well they would probably work fine to power this lamp as my lamp measures just over half an amp at max brightness so any of those old 1 amp chargers should work just fine. If we talk about brightness, then it and the color temperature are regulated via a button on the front of the lamp - a short press selects one of three colors - warm, cool or something in between. Holding the same button for a long time changes the brightness. Brightness is a bit finicky - I wish the speed was a little slower when going from dark to light or back. There is a second button to turn the lamp on or off. Remember that if the lamp is always on (e.g. with one of those old 1 amp chargers) then when you turn it on it will turn on to the color and brightness you previously selected. However, if you've plugged it into a USB port on a computer or laptop and the port doesn't have constant power (in most cases), you'll have to readjust the color and brightness every time you turn off the computer. Before I bought the lamp I was curious if the light wouldn't blur the screen because it's mounted so close to it and I'm happy to report that it doesn't blur at all. The LEDs are mounted at an angle and actually shine FROM the screen onto the keyboard and the work surface in front of it. However, since the LEDs are embedded in the lamp itself, the light does not enter your eyes. As I said, very chic design. I wanted to put some pictures in, so I unplugged it from my monitor and moved it to my wife's system. The move only took two minutes and showed me how easy it would be to move it from one system to another if needed. Hopefully one of the images shows how the light actually illuminates the keyboard and workspace without sacrificing screen brightness or legibility. After temporarily placing it on my wife's monitor, she looked at it carefully with the thought that she might just confiscate it for her own use! I feel like maybe we need to have a second one just to keep the peace in the family.
