Review on πŸ“Ί HDTV Antenna - August DTA240 - Indoor/Outdoor Portable Digital Aerial with Magnetic Base and a 6.5ft Coax Cable, Offering a 50-Mile Range by Jerome Pritchard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Small but powerful antenna

I bought a total of five of these babies! Small but powerful when the magnetic base is attached to a metal surface (ceiling frame, refrigerator, metal, tubular steel and cast iron window frames). I use them for digital OTA TVs in the bathroom, kitchen, living room and basement. Compared to bunny ears, it takes up less space. For the TV in my living room I used an amplified Phillips-Magnavox SCA 060 rabbit ear antenna which gave good reception but had to be rotated to pick up certain stations. Digital signals are so sensitive that it takes a lot of patience to position the antenna to get reception. I replaced the Phillips antenna with an August DTA240 antenna mounted on the flat cast iron roof of my entertainment center. However, I just unplugged the cables and left the Phillips antenna in place when doing the scan. I have over 60 channels/sub channels, all channels without having to move the lofty antenna! What I didn't notice was that one of Phillip's rabbit ears touched August's trunk during the scan. When I started removing another antenna, I lost the transmitters. The unreinforced bunny ears helped amplify the signal, so I left them in place while I touched the raised stem.

Pros
  • Easy to install - plug and play design. Just plug it into your TV or digitizer; Channel search less than 2 minutes. It is easy to use indoors and outdoors and can be placed anywhere, e.g. B. on car roof, metal door, window etc. Note: Please rescan each time you move the antenna.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
