Review on LG 34WN650-W 34 Inch UltraWide DisplayHDR 2560X1080P, 75Hz, Tilt & Height Adjustment for Enhanced Viewing Experience by Jonathan Sanford

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expensive "professional " monitors

On its own, it seemed like a decent $500: a non-curved, ultra-wide 34-inch IPS device with an integrated USB hub. Unfortunately, there are simply better options for both professional workflows and gamers. Also, my particular model had pretty poor quality control, as you can see there are dead pixels along the entire length of the screen. For professional workflows, color accuracy, connectivity and IPS are paramount. Well, while this panel delivers reasonably accurate color reproduction and offers reasonable connectivity, the lack of USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 is a little disappointing at this price point. The Viewsonic IPS monitor is a much more valuable option when connectivity isn't as important, and costs about $165 less. Otherwise, the [[ASIN:B09YCMZKTR] INNOCN IPS] monitor is a great value at just $200, which includes all the options of this monitor and additional Type-C and HDR400 connectivity. If IPS is not a necessity, I would also recommend the Dell VA monitor [[ASIN: ‎B095X7RV77] which comes with 4 USB hub ports and a high refresh rate of 144Hz. On the other hand, for gamers, this monitor is good bad. First of all this monitor is 60Hz out of the box NOT the advertised 75Hz. Overclocking might be an option but at the time it had to be luck and for me personally it was unstable. If you don't insist on IPS, I would recommend the Dell VA B095X7RV77 monitor, which has received incredibly good reviews as one of the most accurate high refresh rate color monitors in the budget range. Otherwise, I recommend the 350-euro HP X34 B098YZ161P with the same panel as the much more expensive Gigabyte MW34Q.
