If you've never tried one of these aerated shower heads, it will revolutionize your showering experience more than a traditional shower head that only sprays water jets. While they are absolutely beautiful and I have used them for years, it was a hotel stay using one of these vent models that prompted me to purchase one for my home. An aerator showerhead, usually larger than the standard, draws in air and mixes it with water, giving you the effect of rain while showering. This makes the water more comfortable in the sense that it feels softer due to the air mixed with the water and allows for a wider water distribution. It's really a pleasant experience. This Kohler model feels and looks great and feels like real quality when you take it out of the box. I ordered the chrome finish model but there are other finishes to suit your taste. I installed it on my standard shower pipe in less than three minutes and after using it made a world of difference. This can actually cut down on your shower time due to the way the water is distributed. Make sure you wrap teflon tape around the shower pipe threads so there are no leaks. (This is a great choice: Everflow 812 PTFE Plumbing Tape, White, 3/4" x 260"; very inexpensive and works great, but please note this is an "optional" item, so order it when you place another order Revain for $25 or more so get free shipping.) The only thing you MAY NOT like is the vented models since they draw in air to achieve that spray pattern , make noise while working. It's not too loud, and since the sound of the water falling on the shower is actually REDUCED somewhat, it can even out somewhat in absolute volume. But it's a different kind of sound that can be adjusted a bit initially, but actually isn't that annoying. In fact, I find this sound more relaxing than my old "standard" showerhead. You can install these two ways. You can either simply attach it directly to the shower pipe in the shower, with the nozzle pointing at an angle to you like a normal shower head. However, some people like to set them up and wear them ABOVE their body for a real "rain effect". If you want to do this you need an extension that is also easy to fit and I can recommend the Adjustable Shower Head Extension - 10" Brass Shower Extension - Chrome which is also good quality and looks great with the Kohler shower head. Five stars for Quality, looks and above all functionality! Note. After a few months of use, limescale can form on any shower head. Many people do not know the simple trick to easily clean and remove them. You simply take a plastic bucket, fill it with white vinegar , remove the shower head and completely immerse it in the vinegar for a few hours. After that, take it out, rinse it and almost all the deposits will magically disappear. No fuss, no fuss!
