Review on 🔧 OTC 7248 C-Frame Press: Superior Tool for U-Joints, Brake Anchor Pins, Wheel Studs, and Ball Joints by Austin Olson

Bought this press to remove the universal joints on my 1996 XJ Cherokee. MUCH easier than banging around with BFHs and sockets, and it's a lot easier on the ears! I removed the old, rusty caps from the yolk ears with ease! Be sure to lubricate the threads before use and tap the yolk lugs to release tension when turning. This will be part of my trail kit that will never leave the jeep from now on! I especially love the fact that you can buy this press without all the ball joint adapters which I would never use, but it will work with 4x4/Jeep adapters (sold separately) if I ever decide to give my ball joints a try! Comes with a sticker saying it was assembled in the US from foreign parts or something. Seems pretty solid so far, but I've only used a 1/2 drive ratchet so who knows if it'll hold up to a break bar? As for the U-joints, it definitely makes me very happy! UPDATE: About a year later I've used this tool to make another set of front axle gimbals and two sets of driveshafts on Jeeps and the tool hasn't bent or given me any problems. I have used a 1/2" drive rod with this press on some stubborn U-joints and it has held up very well. This tool is a great example of how much easier it can be to work with the right quality tool! Anyone with two hands and a couple of wrenches can use this tool to replace the universal joints.
