Don't understand this unless you're mechanically inclined. About a quarter inch less. It sits a few inches lower than big brands and you'll have to change or remove the factory mount and even then it's useless with the box installed. The angles on the hinge bracket are incorrect and it needs to be oriented at an angle for the latch to align. The latch bail doesn't stick out far enough, I had to put spacers behind it to keep the box from hitting the frame. Not very durable but I only use it to store truck cleaners. In general I am not satisfied, next time I will take a more expensive brand.
