This coat fits my 17.5lb Maltipoo perfectly. I checked the size chart and was surprised that I was recommended size XL as my dog is small. But it fits well. It's convenient, but in this case it's not so bad. I think it's well made and the linen ring seems well stitched to the fabric. I wouldn't call this fabric waterproof. The fabric gets quite soaked in heavy rain, but my dog is warmer and drier with it on than without it, and hung on a hook it dries in a couple of hours. If this coat lasts at least a year I would consider buying another one. Easy to put on and take off, BUT if you have a long haired dog, you need to be extra careful not to let it snag the velcro when putting it on and taking it off. I would like the straps to be attached to the top of the coat or the sides of the coat, that would make life a lot easier; It's difficult to attach when it's under the dog's belly and you can't see what you're doing and you have to fumble around. Sometimes I wonder if these designers ever really had dogs.
