Review on Schwinn Thrasher Bike Helmet: Lightweight Microshell Design in Adult, Youth, and Children's Sizes by Richard Alemayehu

My 9 year old son outgrew his old helmet so I bought this one. Less than three weeks later, he put it to the test. He is a daredevil who loves speed. Driving down a hill he shouldn't have been driving, he lost control at 50 km/h and landed sideways on the pavement. He was briefly unconscious but was evaluated for a concussion in the emergency room. He's fine except for a rash. I hate to think how he would have fared with his old helmet or no helmet at all. The paramedic said the place where he landed was one of the worst places for head injuries. Never skimp on protective equipment, especially for children. I am ordering this exact helmet as a replacement. The helmet held up so well I couldn't tell at first where it hit his head. The foam had a slight scuff and a small tear, and then I noticed the compression of the foam where it was padding his head. The best money I've ever spent.
