Review on πŸ“· Zhiyun WEEBILL 2 Stabilizer: Standard Package Gimbal for DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras by Stephanie Adams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A small but fine improvement

This gimbal works as well as the original Zhiyun Weebil S in terms of stability, the biggest change in this new version is the built-in touch monitor. The touch monitor works great for what it's intended for, instead of the previous version with a small screen showing settings and stabilization mode, the touchscreen is much more intuitive and comfortable. Various settings can be made directly on the system via the monitor instead of having to pull out the cell phone, which I find more professional when working on the set. The screen is also very bright and sharp, making it very easy to see in daylight. When the monitor is not in use, I like that it folds neatly onto a gimbal. The other big change in this gimbal is the position of the joystick that controls the movement of the camera. Instead of having the joystick in the middle of the grip, it's on the left side for a better ergonomic grip. I consider this a reversible knife as it favors right-handed people when using the gimbal. The battery is also built into the gimbal system itself, forcing you to charge the gimbal directly. I think that's the gimbal's biggest downside as you can't change the batteries on set, you have to plug it in and wait for it to charge which can make you look very unprofessional on set. I wish it had replaceable batteries like the previous version. Other than that, I can definitely say that the quality of this gimbal is much better than the Weebil S since it is made of light metal. If you're looking for a gimbal for your small mirrorless camera, this is it. However, the previous version works just as well in terms of stability.
