I might have a different idea of the volume control, but I thought that the different decibel limits set meant that at a certain point increasing the volume was no longer possible. This is definitely NOT the case. Toddler mode cuts out some of the higher frequencies, but that's about it. In every mode, I've found that I need to keep the volume on my phone (or the device it's connected to) to the absolute minimum. I can still crank the volume past unsafe levels. I was hoping that the decibel limit would serve as a safety measure to prevent accidentally (or intentionally) boosting the volume above a certain level, but that's not how it works. The old ones use them and I was disappointed in them from the start. My ears are still ringing after listening to them on baby mode at reduced volume for 10 minutes. The sound quality was not very good in my opinion. I give 1 star for the fit. Will return.
