TAG 1: Tested on Linux and Windows 10 desktops (using Webcamoid and default camera app respectively). The maximum resolution I get in both apps is 3264 x 2448 = 7,990,272 pixels, which is about 304 KB less than the commonly accepted resolution of 3840 x 2160 = 8,294,400 pixels (4k UHD). While it's not technically 4k or 8 megapixels (which would be exactly 8 million pixels) in these operating systems and these apps, it's close enough. The max FPS I get on Linux is 20 at 3840 x 2160 (the Windows app didn't support either setting or viewing FPS at the time of this review). All in all, I definitely notice a difference between this webcam and my older 2011 0.8MP 720p webcams (particularly the clarity, color accuracy, and ability to work with low light settings). Very happy with this product so far! ADDITIONAL NOTES: * "Setting up" the webcam was effortless (I use quotes because I didn't have to do anything but plug the cable into the USB port, switch webcams [since I have more than 1] and to install the webcam software on Linux [but not Windows] to use it).* The protective case and tripod are great additions and very easy to set up. The privacy cover is hinged and easy to use. The tripod is tiny, but it has 3 flexible "legs" that allow you to adjust it to an infinite number of positions.* The field of view is narrower and closer than my other webcams (which I prefer as it allows me Not possible). seen brighter in meetings) and significantly wider in photo mode compared to video mode in the Windows Camera app. Shadows - the handling of shadows in the Windows Camera app is good, but not perfect).
