I just built my first water-cooled computer and I'm prone to obsessive-compulsive disorder from the heat. I burned down a gaming rig I built in the late 1990's so I tend to overpay. That's why I bought two Thermaltake temperature and flow gauges. I chose this particular model because I love the clean, minimalist design and the combination of temperature and flow rate really appealed to my builder/geek mentality. Before there were computers, I modified cars (1956 Chevrolet Biscayne, 283 small block, Holley carburetor, Eldelbrock intake, Saginaw transmission. 1961 MGA convertible. You get the idea). As my wallet grew and my back weakened, I switched from the car to the computer in the late 1980s, and it's been a fairly comfortable journey. But enough about my time as a machinist. I installed the devices in a brand new case with a ROG Strix x570 motherboard, an EVGA RTX 2080Ti FTW3 graphics card and an EKWB 300ML Quantum Kinetic pump and reservoir combo. The bottom block in the images measures the temperature and flow rate from the 360mm radiator and pump to the circuit, while the top block in the images measures the same from the CPU water block to the 360mm radiator. Full Disclosure: The loop goes from 360mm wheel > Pump/Resolution > GPU > 240mm wheel > CPU back to 360mm wheel. I will readily concede that the top unit gets some gravity assist from the top mounted cooler, but no more than 20 liters per hour in a given room. Here's what I found out about the TT TF2: One of the ports on one unit was not machined deep enough, resulting in a very serious leak that wasn't fixed until I aggressively inserted the fitting with pliers. After 24 hours the loop will not leak but all other fittings are hand tightened only. Integrating the device into the TT RBG Plus software is too complicated in my opinion. The LCD is so easy to read from 6ft that this feature is just a bunch of useless bells and whistles. This increases the complexity of the installation, but offers no real added value. The most serious disadvantage is the incomprehensible difference in the declared consumption. The units differ by up to 30 liters per hour. The attached pictures were taken within 5 minutes of each other but I recorded readings of 74/53 on start up and low revs up to 245/208 with the PWM water pump at full stroke. Pros: Design as above Relatively easy installation Easy temperature and flow calibration Cons: Connection to a device is too shallow due to poor workmanship to easily install the fitting. Overly complicated design (I don't really need updates on my smartphone). I will not replace them until they stop working, in which case I will choose another device.
