The item purchased was a kit that included a microphone, cable and shock mount. The damping bracket is unfortunately scrap. This microphone is a carotid microphone. Its front is much more sensitive than its sides or back. It is therefore important to point the microphone at the sound source. The mount sagged everyday just from the weight of the mic. I use it in one place, on my PS4 when I'm gaming. I plug the mic into the mixer (phantom power) and it connects like a USB headset. With the mixer I can listen to music or an audio book while playing, or even the TV from my Roque via Bluetooth. But the thing is I don't move the mic and it sags for a couple of hours so it points the mic at the floor. I adjusted and tightened it until the metal screw loosened. Now it shakes and points towards the floor, meaning it's picking up a lot more room noise than it should and I have to turn up the volume, which makes matters worse. sold separately and this is a common problem. The microphone works well, the cable is excellent, it plugged into the mixer and worked straight away. If I had to rebuild, I would buy a microphone without a shock mount. I don't think I can change the suspension. I'm waiting for an answer from their support team. The fortress didn't even last two months. No, it didn't work from day one, but I was so happy with the mic and the package that I figured I could live with customizing it. Remember that this microphone requires "phantom power", you cannot just plug it in. Socket for a computer microphone with adapter.
