I got this little device to stabilize video recording from my all-metal Huawei GX8 smartphone. I also use a machined aluminum phone clip so there is relatively little weight on top. I knew it would take some time and practice to get the results I wanted. I was blown away by the quality of this little device, how the heck can they do it for $29? I know they are Chinese and can and do produce excellent quality and the Movo VS01 is a perfect example. The handles are machined and knurled and powder coated along with the handle. The weights are deep chrome plated, not painted. The ball mount appears to be bronze but may be brass. It's all very professional, despite being tiny and only suitable for a smartphone or GoPro. The ball can suffer from snagging because let's face it, this little thing is sorely lacking in momentum. I smeared it with silicone grease, it seemed to help. I'll say it again, this thing takes practice to get good results. If you can afford it, the $180 gimbal wins every time, but then again, the little Movo never runs out of power or breaks down. You just have to learn how to fly it.
