I've had over 10 irrigators over time. None of them have ever lasted very long, especially the Water Piks (less than 6 months old. Some other brands have lasted a bit longer, +/_ year. These devices aren't cheap. But they've come up in my attempts to keep them, have become essential tools to keep my teeth healthy. But I have no idea, don't know how long this one will last. Larger models and brands with tubes and separate liquid reservoirs need to remove all traces of moisture when storing or they will rust. Haven't tried it .if this has happened on the standalone units I've bought but time will tell The only complaints about this unit at the moment are how quickly it empties its reservoir on the highest setting and the awkward position of the in- /off switch.
