I bought two of these lockout relay sockets for an alarm I was planning to install. I didn't have to block them, but it makes the install cleaner. Having two sockets blocked I found it very difficult to insert two relays. Sockets too close together after lockdown. I believe that the manufacturer should increase the distance between the sockets after blocking. I used a Tyco relay. The sockets were so narrow that the relays did not fit directly into the socket. So instead of inserting the relay bodies at an angle with a lot of pressure on them and the detent grooves, I just left them individually (not blocked). The sockets are of good quality but the latching feature does not work well with Tyco relays. I have a different brand of relay lying around. I checked its dimensions and it turned out to be even larger than the Tyco. So next time I would buy the non-blocking version if it's cheaper since I used it anyway. :-(
