Carefully! The Lightning cable melted in the charging port of my iPad. Now the iPad won't charge.

This is the second set of these cables that I have ordered. They come at a great price, but cheap cables can have hidden costs. I had one plugged into my iPad that got hot enough to melt the end of the lightning cable that goes into my iPad. Noticing it, I pulled it out and threw away the cord. After that, my iPad won't charge with any cable. I have to take it to an Apple Store for an expensive repair or $250 replacement. Don't skimp on losing my iPad. Going forward, I will only look for the highest quality cables, no matter the cost. Lesson learned.
