Just wanted to send a quick message. Not that I wanted to focus on the negatives, but these things immediately struck me as not good for me when I first started using the camera. I'm deducting 1 star for all of that. From what I've read, I expect all other features to work as described.1. It said charging could be done via a USB cable, so I was hoping that for long exposures (like astrophotography, etc.) an external battery could be added to make it work a little while the camera is on." That's how it says in the manual and I checked it for accuracy 2. The EVF is activated by eye contact, mostly at the moment when the EFV dims, the weird thing is that when you view pictures on the LCD the camera goes into normal capture mode and then through scroll the EFV to see more detail etc. To see an image in the EVF you have to hover over it THEN switch to view mode On all the other bullet cameras I use the EVF-1/2 and it switches to the EVF button around which is my favorite 3. The battery door doesn't have an auto lock, when it's closed you have to move a small latch manually, also different from previous pen I thought it was broken .4. The autofocus seems fine, but wasn't directly comparable to my EP5 and EPL9. One thing that bothered me about these older cameras was that they didn't focus well on the moon at all, which was a big disappointment for me (this was with the 14-150mm Zuiko).5. EVF: Obviously the external EVF-1/2 have the advantage of being articulated. This means you can rotate them 90 degrees, which is very handy in many situations. now it would be great to do it here too. or they could add a port to additionally use the EVF if needed. Update 1: (2) I found that the automatic EVF switching can be turned off with the button next to it - very good! Update 2 January 2nd 2021 Did my first outdoor shoot. The autofocus works very well compared to my epl9 and ep5. He could even focus on the moon very easily. The 2 dials at the top are very handy for changing important parameters quickly. I've explored the HDR feature a bit but haven't noticed too much of an impact. I use Snapseed for HDR on my phone and I feel like it affects the image more. But so far so good. I also played with Art14, Splash Color, Feature and it works fine. More on that later, Update January 2, 2021: Tried Nightscape mode for the stars. anyone interested in it probably knows the Pleiades (see image). This was taken handheld with a Zuiko 40-150mm lens, not bad overall. The camera takes 8 frames at 1/10 sec each and then combines them. the result is not even bad. To get the focus to work, I first had to point at another, brighter star and hold the shutter button halfway down, then point at the barely visible Pleiades (this was in a city, so there wasn't really dark skies). This scene mode doesn't allow for manual focusing, which would be nice.
