I am partially completing the installation of a video surveillance system. I bought a wireless system to replace a 13 year old BNC cable system used for outdoor security. I admit that since my house is very large and the walls are 11 inches thick, I may have bought the wrong system. I set up a camera system and placed the cameras at different distances from the NVR in my house just to test them outside. All cameras showed a clear picture except for the camera on the back door, which was the furthest from the NVR. I doubt that the camera system will work outside. Setup was easy and I was able to control the cameras using my computer and mobile phone in about an hour using the software download links and phone app. I emailed Safevant to see if there was a wifi extender they could recommend. Within a day, I received a response from Melody with a recommendation. She kept in touch and explained that I would need two extension cords to support all eight cameras. I ordered two extension cords from Revain but external power adapters were not available. Melody arranged for free delivery of power supplies. Melody seems genuinely concerned that I am happy with my purchase and even checked that I am using the latest version of the software. Every time I emailed Melody, she responded within 24 hours. It's weird, but I feel like I'm letting Melody down when the extension cords don't work. She tries very hard and is very polite and helpful. Regardless of whether the system can be used outdoors or not, I am happy with the product and can use it in my home. I have never experienced such pleasant customer service as with Safevant and Melody. If the extenders don't work I'll probably ask Melody for recommendations on other Safevant products.
