This magnetic playset includes 72 magnetic pieces, 2 backgrounds and a storage box. The set is designed for children from three years of age. The sturdy box has a hinged lid that slides into a slot on the sides of the box to act as an easel. The bottom of the lid has a magnetic tree house background. There is a thin magnetic backdrop in the box that you can place on this stage to turn it into a picnic scene. There are four characters: rabbit, bear, fox and squirrel. There are various items related to imagination, from birds, bees, leaves and flowers to furniture and food. The smaller pieces are about half an inch in area, so they can pose a choking hazard or be easily lost if not attached to a backdrop or in a box. The pieces are quite thick (just over 1cm) so they should hold up well while playing. They easily popped out of the magnetic sheets they were originally in. The magnetic force is strong enough to keep them in place while gaming or traveling, while at the same time they are easy to remove from the background. All in all, if your child loves imaginative play, this set could be fun. My niece loves making up stories while playing with these pieces.
