I had a bolt that didn't line up perfectly with the 'hole' of the doorknob was and it worked! To install : Remove the top and bottom screws from the door opening side of the hinge and LOOSEN the center screws (this is for a 4" hinge). Insert the spacer (use a screwdriver gently if necessary to insert it into the holes for the screws).Replace the screws, tighten the rest and see if that helps. In my own situation I only needed one, but you may need more as one.Install them one at a time, try them out, then install another one if needed, etc. I found a helpful video on the manufacturer's website on how to install it, although the instructions above pretty much cover it all are what you need!
