The product suited me, I will recommend it to my friends.

I join the opinion that this is the most controversial L from Canon. I understand everything, in '06 it was extremely problematic to make an ideal picture at such aperture, however, in '19 the lens can disappoint. I do not regret the purchase, but for those who are considering it, I recommend considering a number of points: -The concept of a sharp frame for a given lens is relative. You will have to choose between such options as "not soft, but blurry", "sharp, but soft", "sharp, not soft, but strong HA". In connection with the foregoing, the camera's automation is experiencing particular difficulties with focusing, and we are talking here about the top "single-digit" model. On the semi-professional and lower class cameras, as practice has shown, it is better not to install a lens at all, in order to avoid getting 60% of defective frames. -Mirror focus works much worse than mirrorless. I recommend using it in difficult times. -This is the lens in which Dual pixel RAW will perform well with its ability to refocus during processing - the amount of focus point shift, due to the very small depth of field, is sufficient to save or improve a number of frames - The design raises doubts about reliability and durability. It does not creak like 50 / 1.8, but it also does not cause the feeling of a monolith, like many brothers in the class. I advise you to consider that this is a special purpose lens, like a TS-E or MP-E. You are unlikely to be able to make them masterpieces by shooting everything, but by finding your niche, you will be able to take really cool shots that are inaccessible to those who do not have it.

Pros
  • -The fastest autofocus lens on the market today -Full Frame -Pleasant drawing, especially expressive looking in B&W -Highest sharpness from /3.2, the lens, in fact, ceases to be a portrait, starting to convey the smallest details, and any living person has imperfect skin
Cons
  • -Very strong HA, more than many non-L lenses. Virtually not eliminated by aperture - Outstanding sharpness at /1.2 -Difficulties with AF. On 5D mark 3, sharp frames were about 55%, on mark 4 - 70 - For some reason, an outdated optical scheme was used, where focusing is realized by the general movement of the entire optical system. In this regard, to protect against the weather, you need to install a filter.
