It's a mess but it looks cool

I have an Ibanez Jem and the guards are all the same. I wanted something unique and custom shin guards cost a fortune. So I got this speckled gold leaf and used it to coat my guitar's plain white pickguard. These sheets are SUPER thin and fall apart very easily so you have to be careful. There are many sheets in one package to make this, so I made a truss rod cover, a tremolo cover, and a rear input port cover. There are tricks! You have to sand the protection and covers to scratch them (easily), so that the sheet will hold on to something and not slip. Received - Multipurpose Adhesive 3M Scotch Super 77, 4.37 oz., Clear - Spray gently, allow to dry so it will be tacky to the touch. Place the sheets of paper over any parts you are covering, then CAREFULLY rub the sheet into the adhesive with a damp, smooth cloth. If you rub the sheet hard, it will tear. Let it dry for about 2 days until it becomes soft. Then, before trimming off the excess sheet, coat it with - Krylon K01303007 11 oz. Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray Spray - . Let roast all day. Then gently rub your index finger over the edges of the sheet that hang over the edges of the covered pieces. It's not as easy as it seems. A friend of mine tried and ripped the sheet after the glue dried, almost a disaster. We just started the whole process from the beginning. Have fun and look for other leaf colors, there are many here. let dry so it is sticky to the touch. I use this with my polymer clay designs. It is perfect for giving a crackle effect
