I had VERY short hair. I inserted the image up to, I would say, no more than 3 inches at a time. My husband and I did this (very amateur and homemade) hair transformation using 2 boxes and probably 3 hours. I was sure I only needed one box because I don't have a lot of hair. Well we put down a box and quickly realized we needed another one so I spent two days getting a pretty crooked haircut while waiting for the package :P We shaved the sides of my head. I have naturally dark brown hair and we added the ribbons very slowly. I watched videos for hours obsessing over how to do this but my husband just jumped in after a short instructional video. After I styled all my hair, I quickly cut my hair. Honestly, this is a fun addition. They stay a little over 2 weeks. I brush my extensions with a wig brush, wash and dry them like my normal hair. A few days ago the ends were looking pretty bad so I used a mix of fabric softener in a spray can that I use on some of my curly wigs (1 part fabric softener, 4 parts water) sprayed on the extensions and brushed through. It worked great and smells wonderful :) I wear my hair down or in a bun. When tying a knot, I need some invisible bobby pins to ensure the hair still covers some of the more obvious parts of the tie. Invisible bobby pins do the trick.
