A rug is longer so I like to use it in front of the kitchen island where I stand to cook dinner. I like that the rug has a smooth surface that is easy to clean. Due to the thickness of the carpet, it is comfortable to feel underfoot. The length of each rug is perfect, but I wish both were a bit wider. I can't comment on the durability of the rug as I've only had it for a few days. I put a smaller rug in front of the kitchen sink. So far I am very satisfied with both mats.
