Color goes into the test liquid almost immediately, especially blue. If you leave the strip in a glass of water for more than 2 seconds, the water will turn a distinct blue color. Also, more importantly, I tested accuracy with a newly certified Mettler Toledo pH meter and these strips almost all showed low readings. The strip clearly read pH 7 while my meter read 8.2. These strips are completely useless. You might as well try to imagine what pH is instead of measuring it with this product. This will likely give you more accurate measurements.
