Excite 8 has its pros and cons. I have three pairs of Excite 7's that I really liked and decided to try the 8's. The biggest benefit is the removable insole, which the 7s didn't have, it makes it a lot easier to use your own liners. The fit is definitely different between the two styles. The 7th immediately became comfortable out of the box, the 8th takes some getting used to. Eights feel roomier than sevens, both widthwise and lengthwise, and I'm a little concerned that my feet might slip if they get wet. They also feel a bit stiffer and have more arch support than the 7s. I don't know yet if these changes are good or bad as I've only had them for a short time and I don't know how these changes will affect long-term wear. You will work for my feet. I'm sticking with Excite 7s.
