This is definitely not a beginner level. We have one other puzzle that is somewhat easy. This one was definitely challenging for my almost 3yr old Golden Retriever. It took her about 10 minutes and at one point she did carry it over to me to help her lol! The outside yellow pieces are easier, but the red circles are confusing for her. You have to spin around the middle white pieces and push the red ones towards the middle and back, one at a time to find the treat. It definitely kept her busy and made her work for her treats. It is very light weight. Seems like it will hold up just fine. I was able to use a clip coupon and get 40% off which is what made me buy it. As you see, she moves it around very easily. She sniffs out where she has treats yet to find. You may want to put it on a mat if you want to try keeping it in one spot. I always put it away once she has found all treats so she doesn't decide to use as a chew toy lol. Definitely happy with the purchase.
