Review on KA-BAR Black Fighting Knife - Model 2-1211-6 by Ellington Gardner

This is one of the best general purpose knives. It's hard, neither short nor long. The thick hardened steel makes it a great tool for working in the field. The blade stays sharp and can be pierced with wood to split it. I keep it in my BOB/camping bag. When I go out I wear it on my belt. I like to have it with me in case I get separated from my bag. For this reason I wanted a sheath to always have at least a whetstone and a lighter with me. I bought a Ky Lake leather case on Etsy to replace the standard case. It has everything I need to get through a few days with just a knife. Now I can make a fire with what was in the scabbard, fish, and keep my knife sharp. I feel more confident when I have a knife that has been tried and tested.
