I was glad that many reviewers gave advice on how to get them working. The wick is good quality but does not fit tightly into the brass fitting so the length of the wick keeps the wick above the top of the bottle. Brass fittings come with a rubber gasket but even that is loose. I was able to use rubber bands or some rubber grommets to create a tight fit around the bottle and brass fitting. Duct tape over the gasket also helps. I would recommend using a smaller glass for these tiki torch bottles as a wine bottle holds an unnecessarily large amount of oil and needs to be filled within a few inches of the top so the wicks can conduct the oil fast enough to maintain the temperature to maintain. Flame. If the bottle is too empty, the wick will not keep up with the flame and will go out. I tried soaking the wicks but that didn't work for me. Since I had already bought large wine bottles, I filled the wine bottle halfway with sand (because it's cheaper than marble) so I didn't have to use as much oil. It really works - the components appear to be very durable and I believe they will last a very long time.
