This product contains a melamine resin binder. This product is not made from 100% bamboo. While not advertised as 100% bamboo, the seller boasts that it's PVC, phthalate, and BPA-free, FDA approved (most cookware and food), and biodegradable, which is good, but there are no codes on the bottom. These plates state that they are NOT microwaveable. Nowhere on the seller's website does the packaging or plates state that they are NOT microwaveable. This is very deceptive. DO NOT USE THE MICROWAVE. At very high temperatures, melamine can get into food. For this reason, the FDA does not recommend heating melamine sheets in the microwave. I don't know how much melamine and how much bamboo is in this product. But I know the seller didn't mention that they are NOT microwaveable. They are also not as durable as advertised. They can easily break if a child drops them on a hard floor.
