I used an earlier model of this trimmer and its battery died completely (5 years was a decent amount of time). I've now tried the new one and find it a really good upgrade (albeit more expensive). Here are the advantages: - it's lighter - the charger works at 110/220 power - used to be a problem on long trips in Europe, doesn't last more than 2 months without recharging - the vacuum cleaner is more powerful than the previous model when new - less hair ends up in the sink - cut size settings are reliable now - old model slipped out of the settings every now and then - internal filter - good design - although now it is more difficult to remove hair with the door, this better blocks the motor part prevents hair get stuck - it has two different combs for different needs, & the last model had one (although contour following always works better for me), much less cleaning. Once you've tried it, you'll never want to go back. You can't use it in the shower, but you still can't trim your beard well in the shower.
