Review on Weaver Leather Silvertip Hollow Braid Sports & Fitness for Other Sports by Trey Michaels

Great reins for cross-country riding!

I ride a (beautiful) Haflinger, a large pony with a short neck and a huge mane. I need short reins for him and I like them to be comfortable in my hands and have enough grip. My favorite thing to do is use the reins on the trail because if my hands get tangled in his mane, which happens, I don't have to worry about the reins falling off. Also, the cable reins are usually the perfect length to hold around the neck when we're riding loose reins, and I don't have to deal with the extra reins that come with longer spreader reins. I had an old pair of Weaver cotton reins that I liked, but over time they wore out. I replaced them with new Weaver reins which were a very attractive color but were only 5/8" wide and quite slippery. I used them for a few months and then went in search of a better replacement. The only manufacturer I liked so I took a chance after looking closely at the photo and description. Bingo, I got exactly what I needed. These reins are thicker but not too thick for my little hands, soft and at the same time with a good grip. They are the perfect length for my needs, a big plus is their attractive looks, the color scheme goes perfectly with my bangs, which of course is very important for the demanding trail rider. :)
