I need it because I always come to work in a hurry. When I get out of the shower, I have to do my makeup, hair, and so on. Our mirrors fog up so much that it takes too long to reuse the mirror. My first purchase attempt failed. It would have spilled if I hadn't noticed the tank was full, the amount of demisting removed from the mirrors was minimal and it was LOUD! This might reduce my expectations in the wrong direction based on that previous experience. g say it's perfect for small spaces with high humidity; eg bathrooms, laundries, small rooms. It doesn't have a noisy compressor. Auto shut off to prevent overfilling. If you're trying to reduce humidity in a child's room or bedroom, this isn't the way to go. It is only suitable for small spaces. Unfortunately, it has a very short power cord. Therefore, correct placement can be difficult. I needed to tweak part of my sink platform. It doesn't have a humidistat, but for the price I wasn't expecting a lot of features. For the small space I use it for, it does the job. I know it works without a humidistat because I have to empty it every day and it cuts mirror fogging time in half. The picture I took was on the second morning. I was surprised that I didn't know the water content in the air in an ordinary bathroom like mine.
