Review on 100 Count Springbok Home Silver-Look Plastic Spoon Cutlery Set by Jonathan Clark

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Terrible appearance, scratches/pits/smudges everywhere. A knife is only good for butter. Very cheap.

I have a set of knives and a set of spoons. Both have the same issues, which is why I'm doing this review that covers both. - Made in China - All have a nasty plastic splinter on the end, mostly sharp but always ugly. Distance. Get close or grab one and you will have no doubt that it is cheap plastic. For some reason, they're lighter than the smaller, cheaper ones you get from fast food. Up close they are a jumble of scratches, dents and blemishes and signs of wear where the finish has faded. The spoons are a good bowl size. Knives are less than mediocre at cutting. They look jagged but the tip is so rounded it doesn't work well, plus. They're very flexible, not stiff at all, so with a knife it makes it worse, and with spoons it means the soup is ok, but probably not ice cream scoops (soft serving will do). All spoons have signs of use, which can be seen in my picture. I'm sure it's because they were folded or "laid down" during shipping. I'm so blown away by them, both in looks and (lack of) functionality (mostly knives). If I use them at all, I need to schedule a suitable non-filling meal, like a stew that uses butter on crusty French bread for a knife, and have a movie night with the lights off.
