When I first started using this (and 2 other TropiClean dental/oral care products), it only took about a week before I started to notice a significant improvement in my canine comrade's terrible, awful, very bad, super stanky breath. It used to make sitting close to her/cuddling her/sharing the bed with her/etc. much less pleasant experiences than they are now. If she was in the back seat of the car, I could smell her breath while sitting up front with the A/C on blast; more than a few passengers in the car mentioned the terrible stench they'd noticed. It was so bad that a few folx (in the car and at home) didn't believe doggie breath could smell that disgusting until they'd been convinced I/we weren't lying, or until they'd stuck their faces up close to the doggo's to sniff her breath themselves.I've been using this (+2 other products) for at least 6 months, and my canine comrade's breath is now barely and rarely noticeable. Now, when I/someone does catch a whiff it smells more like regular to-be-expected doggie breath instead of her previous "human repellent" breath. Also, her senior dog stained brown and black and covered in plaque teeth are definitely much less stained (even the molars) and the amount/severity of plaque buildup has improved a rather surprising amount. The doggo has never seemed to notice this has been added to her water; she drinks just as much with this in it as she does/did with nothing in it.I use this water additive concurrently with TropiClean "Fresh Breath" Oral Care Gel and Oral Care Spray. She doesn't enjoy the spray at all but she doesn't try to resist when she knows I'm about to spray/spraying it into her mouth (makes "icky" face + licks lips & inside/roof of mouth b/c tastes bad). The oral gel doesn't really seem to bother her much; she seems to dislike the texture of the gel more than the taste (just licks her chops intently for a couple min).FYI: I also use TropiClean alcohol-free Ear Wash, and it works wonders on my canine comrade's big floppy Basset hound ears. It's even headed off a couple of ear infections before they got to the point of needing to see the vet for Rx drops. I noticed her shaking her head just a teeny bit more often/hard than normal, used the Ear Wash once a day for 3 days and *poof* no infection!
