Review on Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Flat 2 Inch by Rebecca Carey

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Works well good for straighteners

I bought a Conair Dry 'n Straight 2 inch hair straightener a few years ago as it was the only one I could find with a wide ironing plate. I have very thick hair with a slight wave (like a cow lick) and the 1 inch straighteners took so long to put even a dent in my mane. This hair straightener changed my life. I start work at 5am, so I like to keep my morning prep schedule as short as possible to maximize my sleep hours. I can erect my entire head in less than 5 minutes. I think the trick is the wet/dry setting. I can quickly blow dry my hair so it's just damp (not soaking wet) and the flat iron dries the rest as it goes. It heats up incredibly quickly and has a section at the top that stays cool so you don't burn yourself but have a place to hold on to when you straighten up. Another feature I'm incredibly grateful for is that it will turn itself off after a while unless accidentally plugged in. This iron is easy to use and gets the job done. I had the first one for about 5 years, then it burned out and stopped heating (remember I use this product at least once a day). I was so pleased with the first that I bought the second and am just as pleased. It smooths my hair and makes it shiny and frizzy. There are multiple heat settings and I've never fried my hair, I also like that you can run this through your hair pretty quickly and still get a good straightening effect. The slower you tug at it, the better it works, but since I'm always crushed by time, it can get the job done in a hurry too.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Reliability
