Revainrating 5 out of 5

I got my Unitek hard drive adapter yesterday and the .

Received my Unitek hard drive adapter yesterday and connected an IDE to it and it worked as advertised. I will use it to backup important files and data from drives I used years ago. I only gave this review 4 stars because of the poor documentation that came with the device. A limitation. If you want to archive old files from drives that have been idle for years, the very first thing you should do is run a virus/malware scan on the drive. You never know what might be on those old discs. For example, I plugged in an old drive my brother-in-law gave me and found it was infected with viruses, trojans, other malware, and malware. Norton 360 found 78 malware on this drive. One notable trojan was Trojan.Nancrat, a particularly dangerous trojan that opens a backdoor on your system and allows you to remotely query and control your computer.
