However, I decided I wanted to put it on a timer and ran into an issue with a bulge under the plug-in port. I'm not sure what that lip is for, but it prevents the plug from being inserted into the timer. I even bought a new timer that looked like the socket at the bottom was narrow enough for the bar to slide under, but it wasn't. Other than that, I don't know if it works in wet conditions, but it works fine in severe frost.
