It was a big mess, too many parts, difficult to clean up and didn't turn out what I expected from Concord tomatoes and grapes. We've grown a lot of food ourselves and it's always frustrating when the skin and pulp end up in the compost heap rather than being processed into something edible. I wanted to keep all but the pips of the grapes, but even with accessory kit 07-0858 the holes were either missing on the pips or were too small and clogged with pulp. I was hoping to recycle the tomatoes but ended up making a total mess and leaking. Perhaps this could be more efficient on a very small scale, but when you have a lot of items to process it's just not worth it, and even on a large baking sheet it's still difficult to keep clutter at bay. I made one last try with strawberries and it was the same sloppy mess and loss of pulp. Basically, it's a juicer that's not as good at juicing as a juicer. I probably won't be using it again and have ordered a Blendtec blender and so far great results and no mess but we'll see how it works with tomatoes. It did not separate the seeds from the pulp, so this claim was dismissed. The auger pushes the material through the hub, pushing everything all the way through rather than spreading out the sides as it rotates, so by the end all but the juice is over and stuck. Filling this hopper with tomatoes as in the picture doesn't work either and you either have to cut them smaller or push them hard to get them into the auger grooves. That didn't make canning the tomatoes any easier, and the process went back to the old way. Based on the reviews, the experience is really different, but as it didn't work with the two items I specifically bought it for, I'm not trying it on anything else. It cost about $25 and up for the accessory kit, it wasn't that painful, but it also took me years to justify buying my KitchenAid Professional stand mixer, and after that it usually becomes an exercise in being cheap and expecting exceptional results Futility. If you just want juice, that's fine.
