I don't know what black magic is here, but the first thing that shocked me (besides the gaudy look) was how it automatically opened and closed the clips to pick up the phone. . You can check out the video on the product page and hopefully I'll be able to upload my own soon but yes it works! I don't know how it detects that the phone is nearby, but it opens and when you place your phone it closes automatically. For the close sensor I think it detects a charge but for the open sensor I'm not sure how it does it. Anyway, back to his banging looks. I mean look at this. Either you love or you hate, there is no middle ground. I mean it looks so bad it's thrown back to the 80's and bad means good because I love it! It's perfect for the donkeys you see in LA and Miami, and it looks good in my Lexus ISF Sport too. Charging is Qi wireless, so it's a lot more convenient as the cable now goes to the charger instead of your phone. . This is more important with cars because you want to get in and out quickly and not have to fiddle with your phone every time. It's not the newest or fastest wireless standard, but more than good enough - 15W max power is enough for me (that would be on the latest Samsung phones, while the iPhone maxes out at 5W). Finally, it includes three protrusions for three standards: phone charging, which is very neat and works great, although I never have to use them since I use a Samsung Note 20 Ultra and an iPhone 11 Pro. But knowing what it is, there is one major benefit that makes it a five star product as the price is more than fair given that it is a Qi wireless charger.
