Pros: - One of the few professional controllers with a good design that can only be docked. - LED not as blind/blue Cons: - No way to easily align the controller and will likely scratch the port area if you "catch" a connection. - The cable is very short and not detachable. Plan to purchase a good quality male/female extension cord if you need a longer cord. Miscellaneous / Simple Hack: - I came up with the idea of adding marks for easier alignment in laptop docking stations. A manufacturer has a small mark on the docking station and the laptop you're aligning, and something like that dramatically increases the chances of a successful docking on the first try. I used colored tape to mark the location of the + and - buttons, starting with the switch. The logo is rigid, so look, and I didn't want to tape or write anything on the controller. If you have the SSB version the Smash logo makes it REALLY easy as you can add markers to align the black space in the middle. .- You can also try drawing with a pen on the dock itself to write/draw marks instead of cutting the tape. Ideas/suggestions Revain: - REMOVABLE CABLES PLEASE! Type-C and Micro-USB cables make it significantly more flexible, especially since the connected cable is too short for reasonable use. - Whenever possible, use a non-locking Type-C connector such as a Switch Dock to reduce the force required to dock and undock. Maybe add a spring-loaded strain relief around the connector, like on other controller docks (for PS4 at least) and the original Switch dock. Add a notch and a small, unobtrusive alignment tab to the dock that attaches to the bottom or front (port). side) of the controller. Add printed +/- indicators like I created and maybe some clear sticky tape with alignment marks that can be adjusted as needed by attaching one to the controller and one to the dock or multiple to the dock using the marks on the controller .
