I ordered 20 glowsticks for a search and rescue project I'm working on. Received both boxes (10 each) in a Revain box, shipping went well. As with most devices I order for search and rescue, I tested the functionality. At first I was happy to notice that there is a small Phillips head screw that secures the battery box/head to the case. This is a very important addition compared to other glowsticks I've used as it prevents the two pieces from separating and losing batteries and LEDs. The second step was to turn on and evaluate the battery status of each bulb. When I checked all 20 bulbs, I came across two of those that were included in the boxes. Okay, I don't know how long these glowsticks were in the boxes before shipping, but the fact that the two bulbs still had minimal illumination impressed me with the battery life. Realizing that the two ads wouldn't work, I emailed the sender with no response. Once I got them in place, two more glowsticks failed within six hours. Luckily I got the idea to order 100 LR-41 batteries just in case. So I replaced the batteries in the glow sticks when they ran out. It's not so easy to swap four batteries in them, especially in the dark. First you will need a very small screwdriver to remove the screw holding the glow stick together. Then you need to remove the wires from the LED head. Third, you need to pull the plastic battery case out of the main unit. Fourth, you need to push the batteries out of the plastic and remember which way they are facing. Then perform all steps in reverse order. So if it's dark and you're doing this for the first time, practice in the mission base beforehand. In general, these are good glowsticks. I would ask for the option of ordering one, two, or three color packs (I don't actually need purple or orange. Blue, red, and green are pretty standard). I would recommend them for price and quantity. Do order extra batteries though as there may be a few in the box when you receive them.
